At Woodland Heritage Furniture we truly appreciate the beauty and functionality that trees bring to our lives. With each piece of furniture we manufacture comes a connection to nature unique to live edge, with each slab hand chosen to match the character of the piece. While many of our bases remain constant, each live edge slab is one-of-a-kind, offering your customers a unique and beautiful addition to their home.
In selecting the lumber for our unique live edge furniture each slab must go through our own curing process. At Woodland Heritage Furniture we cure our own lumber for quality control, generally air drying one year for each inch of the material's thickness. The wood is then kilned to extract the last of the moisture. Upon exiting the kiln the wood relaxes from tension and moisture, sometimes cracking and creating unique imperfections. It is at this stage we apply our craftsmen's touch, applying bowties or in-laid glass to the cracks turning imperfection into beauty.
